Volunteers

In addition to our trustees we have volunteers who help and support our Residents in their day-to-day lives.

Our group of volunteers, around 12 in total, are a key part of life at Bernhard Baron Care Home and have a wide range of roles, including driving the minibus and assisting on outings, running our shop, providing musical and other entertainment, organising and accompanying the hymns at the Sunday service and (don’t tell Santa!) filling Christmas stockings.

Become a volunteer

If you would like to join our volunteers, please call us on 01323 483613 or email reception@bbch.co.uk for an application form. Before we can accept your application we are required to take up two references and to do a DBS check, for which we will pick up the cost.

In the meantime, we will keep you informed of what is happening at the Homes and we will be delighted to welcome you at coffee mornings and our summer fayre.

We have about a dozen volunteers, in addition to our trustees. Our volunteers provide essential support to our Residents, making their daily lives better.

Our volunteers:

  • Run the shop

  • Arrange and perform in concerts

  • Assist in organising and accompanying the hymns at the Sunday services

  • Visit Residents who are poorly or in need of companionship

  • Drive the minibus on our many outings

  • Provide extra support on outings

Most important of all, a volunteer is there when a resident needs a special friend.
