This week, our Residents enjoyed a cultural outing to the Towner Art Gallery to experience the work of renowned British artist Nigel Hall RA. Hall is celebrated for his exploration of space, light, and shadow through elegant geometric sculptures, intricate drawings, and striking prints. His work often plays with perspective, inviting the viewer to engage with the shapes and forms from different angles.
During our visit, Residents were particularly captivated by his large-scale 3D sculptures, which seem to shift and change as you move around them.
The way he uses negative space to create depth and movement sparked fascinating discussions among the group. His drawings and prints, with their clean lines and careful use of shadow, offered another perspective on his artistic process, showing how his ideas evolve from paper to sculpture.
Trips like these are more than just an opportunity to view art—they inspire creativity, conversation, and reflection.
