We recently had the pleasure of hosting a nature-inspired art workshop led by the talented illustrator Giulia Casarotto. Giulia is a published children's book author-illustrator, mixed media artist, and art facilitator based in East Sussex.

Born and raised in Vicenza, Italy, she has been living in the UK since 2015. Her work beautifully captures the essence of the natural world and the intricate relationship between humans and animals.

A Relaxing & Creative Experience

During the workshop, our Residents enjoyed creating delicate ink paintings of bird feathers and nests. This activity not only fostered creativity but also provided a calming environment where art and nature seamlessly intertwined.

Giulia’s expertise in mixed media and her passion for nature shone through, inspiring everyone to explore new artistic techniques in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Giulia’s Inspiring Work

Giulia’s portfolio includes collaborations with esteemed institutions such as:

  • Horniman Museum & Gardens

  • Royal Museums Greenwich

She has also designed educational materials, including the Cuckoo Trail Workbook, an interactive booklet that tells the story of how the trail transformed from a bustling railway into a family-friendly outdoor space.

Her visit made for a truly memorable experience, celebrating the harmony between art and nature.
